Roadmap For 2024 đâ
Call For Data Scientists & Clinical Collaborators, Launch Of Redesigning Healthcare With Women In Mind Community, Wyss Institute at Harvard, Women Centric Cancer Care & More!
Itâs been a while â So Letâs Get Right Down To Business:
Call for Collaborators: Clinicians And Data Scientists
FemTechnology In Action: Davos, US Chamber of Commerce, Wyss InstituteâŚ
Become A FemTechnology Ambassador!
Imagine a world where we actually applied our existing knowledge about womenâs health?
Yes â we absolutely need more innovation in womenâs health (more research, more more answers, more options) âbut why arenât we using what we already know?
Why arenât existing clinical guidelines, research and solutions in womenâs health systematically integrated into womenâs healthcare journeys to improve the health outcomes and quality of life of women today?
What if we leveraged that knowledge to map out where gaps in treatment and care are? What if we targeted innovation in womenâs health specifically at those gaps: both in female-specific conditions (Endometriosis, PCOS, PMDD ...) and differently-presenting conditions (Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Lung Cancer âŚ)
What if we leveraged our knowledge of womenâs healthcare today to innovate, shape and create the womenâs healthcare of tomorrow?
If you are a physician-scientist or a data scientist â we want to work for you to build that future with our platform!
If youâd like to get involved please reach out to: oriana@femtechnology.org
(or forward to someone you know would be interested)
Why should you care about The Gender Data Health Gap?
TL;DR The gender data gap is turbocharged by AI â AI learns from the data itâs trained on therefore if women are âinvisibleâ or misrepresented in that data (as they currently are in healthcare data), this can have lethal consequences.

Join Us To Redesign Healthcare With Women In Mind:
Kearney and FemTechnology in partnership with the World Economic Forumâs Global Alliance for Womenâs Health launched an Open Letter for change at Davos earlier this year to redesign healthcare with women in mind, with 50+ signatories spanning the entire healthcare value chain.
In May, a global multi-stakeholder community with the aim to move the dial on womenâs health by developing industry frameworks to baseline and track progress, sharing insights, co-creating of solutions and driving policy change is launching.

âIf youâll be at HLTH Europe in Juneâ we can even meet in person to brainstorm how to âredesign healthcare with women in mindâ - how cool is that?â
Last week, we had the delight of speaking to the Womenâs Health Catalyst of which we are on the advisory board at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University.
Some of the incredible womenâs health innovators weâd like to shine a spotlight on are:
Luba Perry - spinning out ReConstruct: creating living tissue implants assembled from a patientâs own cells and integrated into the body for more natural breast reconstruction and augmentation with fewer health risks.
Ola Gutzeit - improving fertility & finding causes for unexplained infertility with Organ Chips (with a specific focus on how the vaginal microbiome affects sperm function in female reproductive tract models).
Aakanksha Gulati â using the Vagina Chip to test new and existing treatments for Bacterial Vaginosis, identifying effective therapies that can be advanced into clinical trials, Sandy Elmehrath â ground-breaking endometriosis work, Haleh Fotowat â understanding the neural basis for chronic fatigue syndrome & more!
If youâd like to engage with this community of world-renowned scientists and engineers you can in Fall 2024 at the Wyss Institute:
Women Centric Cancer Care At The US Chamber of Commerce
At the US Chamber of Commerce the fabulous Stephanie Sassman (Portfolio Leader Womenâs Health, Genentech) and Michael Annichine (CEO, Magee-Womens Research Institute) shared insights from the FemTechnology Women Centric Cancer Report On How Employers Can Make Women Centric Cancer Care A Reality:
ICYMI, in 2023, we convened 150 innovators in womenâs health (corporates, researchers, clinicians, femtech startups âŚ) for our FemTechnology Summit in collaboration with Roche to tackle collective pain-points in womenâs health.
Off the back of that, we created a roadmap on how to move from talk to action on:
Financing Innovation In Womenâs Health
ESG Alignment for Womenâs Health
Redesigning Healthcare With Women In Mind
Women Centric Cancer Care
AI and The Gender Data Health Gap
The Business Case for Womenâs Health
The Role of Media & The Clinician In Womenâs Health
In 2024, weâre making it easy to catalyze change in womenâs health:
What does that mean? Weâre looking for Ambassadors!
If you are working at a corporation and looking to play a more active role in supporting womenâs health, weâd love for you to become an Ambassador:
If you are a Researcher, FemTech Startup or Clinician Working In Womenâs Health â we want to disseminate your work:
As always, if youâd like to know more about our work, partner with us, have feedback or if you are in NYC and would like to connect in personâ weâd love to hear from you at: oriana@femtechnology.org
